Overview and Responsibilities

The Director, Marketing Finance & Budget Operations is responsible for the overall management and reporting around the Nickelodeon marketing budget. Possessing a creative operations background and an expertise in budgeting, this person will partner with team leaders across the marketing organization and ViacomCBS to plan, report on, and reconcile the budget. The Director will be tasked with building a Marketing Finance & Budget Operations team and implementing best in calls methodologies.

Reports directly into the Vice President, Marketing Operations.

The role includes the following responsibilities:

  • Manage the marketing budget, meeting frequently with marketing leads to confirm and report on project budget needs and status for the week, quarter, and year
  • Work with the VP of Marketing Operations and Finance to review and adjust project budgets and allocation of funds
  • Working with Marketing leadership, build and regularly update new reports that provide insights and recommendations around expenditures and return on investment across properties, channels, and initiatives
  • Analyze and find opportunities to improve the planning, forecasting, and overall process around maintaining the budget
  • Recruit and lead all aspects of training for new team members
  • Lead the following finance tasks
  • Manage the payout of license payments
  • Analyze weekly reports, identifying anomalies for further discussion and reclassing costs
  • Run weekly reporting meetings with finance to assess POs, reclassing activities, overall tracking of projects to budget
  • Handle accruals
  • Oversee any Time & Expense reconciliation
  • Ensure consistent use of SAP
  • Manage individual campaign budgets, including tracking, allotting, and reporting, overall tracking and management between all lines of business, reclassing of costs, and setting of shoot budgets
  •  Manage individual marketing team budgets including on-air, consumer marketing, social, interactive, and digital design
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships within Nickelodeon (business, consumer products, finance and human resources) as well as all related groups across the ViacomCBS universe

 

 

Basic Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in a creative operations/budget management role
  • Strong budgeting background is imperative, with an ability to find creative solutions with shrinking budgets against increased deliverables
  • Management experience required
  • Proficient in Excel, SAP
  • BA required, MBA or MFA is a Plus
