    Overview and Responsibilities

    We are currently seeking a Vice President, Government Relations & Regulatory Counsel (GR&RC) who will manage regulatory policy for ViacomCBS television stations, broadcast and cable networks and other businesses. The VP will advocate public policy positions on behalf of the company and develop and maintain positive working relationships with agency officials. Reporting into the Senior Vice President, GR&RC and serve a leading role on the regulatory policy team. The position is based in Washington, D.C.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    • Advocate company positions before the FCC and other government agencies.
    • Draft filings for submission to the FCC and other agencies
    • Coordinate public policy advocacy with other media companies, trade associations and other allies
    • Work closely with our business divisions to align policy messaging and achieve desired company goals
    • Facilitate the company's compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
    • Supervise outside counsel day-to-day

    Basic Qualifications

    • Licensed attorney with a J.D.
    • Admitted to the Bar; preferably within Washington DC
    • Minimum of 7 years of legal experience in a large national or regional law firm, trade association, corporation, or government agency.

    Additional Qualifications

    • Experience in FCC rule-making and compliance, particularly with broadcast media and/or pay TV issues
    • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with government officials
    • Possess excellent writing, verbal communication and organization skills
    • Attention to detail and work ethic
    • Results-oriented and able to balance multiple assignments at a time in a fast paced environment
