    Overview and Responsibilities

    The role is responsible for determining how to best invest and allocate BET’s media budget to build best in class multi-platform plans across paid, owned & operated, and earned media. They will do this by understanding and interpreting BET’s programming strategy, consumer and cultural insights, data analytics, and industry marketplace knowledge.

    This person is able to link marketing strategy to the creative strategy and translate into a fully integrated Media plan, while deriving the greatest and most optimal impact from our media spend. The candidate will oversee and direct the Agency in negotiations of all paid media investments against national and/or local media (Broadcast, Print, Online, Radio, OOH, etc.). The role will collaborate across various functions including: Brand Marketing, Brand Creative, Programming, Scripted, Social Insights and Communications, Consumer Insights, Digital, Ad Sales Research, Ad Sales….etc.

     

    Responsibilities 

    • Experienced in media planning and buying; management of investment strategies across online and offline channels.
    • Lead and manage external agency partners. Serve as the day-to-day management of agency deliverables. Be the internal team’s “go-to” for all media planning and deliverables.
    • Interprets business and consumer data to develop insightful solutions to business problems. Translates business objectives and priorities into strategic briefs that guide the agency’s direction.
    • Identify, design, negotiate, and execute integrated marketing media programs. Work with internal cross-functional team to flawlessly execute programs.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Strong knowledge and experience of national and local Media Investment and Planning across TV & Video, Digital/Social, Radio, OOH, and familiarity with different digital channels (e.g., SEM, SEO, biddable/programmatic media)
    • Experience working on multiple media campaigns involving complex data within a fast-paced environment

    Additional Qualifications

    • Demonstrated ability to develop digital marketing communication plans specifically encompassing social media strategies
    • Demonstrated ability to manage Agency accounts
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Experience working with senior level clients 
    • Understanding of marketing and communications process 
      Ability to drive projects from conception to completion; project management experience
    • Preferred working knowledge of third party marketing research: (list here: comScore Media Metrix, Nielsen and others
