    Overview and Responsibilities

    MTV is currently seeking a Designer. The qualified candidate should have a sophisticated design sense, deliver innovative, high-end designs, have strong typography skills, great attention to detail, and possess a problem-solving mindset. This individual should excel at working both independently as well as in a collaborative team environment. They also must be able to handle a number of projects at once, and work well under tight deadlines.


    The designer will conceptualize and design a variety of projects within marketing, editorial, production, and digital initiatives. They must be passionate about design. They will work collaboratively with the Art Directors and head of Design, and must have a conceptual point of view. The goal of this role is to deliver consistent, on-strategy creative, and work to improve the quality of design.

    The design team works in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, our ideal candidate therefore should be able to handle stressful conditions and be self-motivated and have initiative. Our projects encompass style frames for motion, presentations, key art, out-of-home advertising, digital banners and creative, social media assets, creating style guides and mood boards, designing show logos for network programming, and consumer marketing premiums.


    • Support the MTV Design team in the development and execution of outstanding design for print, outdoor, digital & social
    • Must be self-motivated, creative, focused, organized and a team player
    • Take direction from Art Directors and produce concepts and working assets
    • Conceive and develop concepts individually as well as in a collaborative environment
    • Generate and design innovative, inspirational concepts that are uniquely creative and capture the voice of the brand
    • Work with Producers to keep all projects on time and on budget
    • Be a self-directed, problem-solving member of the design team
    • Be a champion for great ideas and great design
    • Maintain the highest standards for every project, no matter how large or small
    • Contribute to the creation of all brand, logo and style guidelines

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Design or related field
    • 3+ years experience as a Designer

    Additional Qualifications

    • Entertainment network experience preferred
    • Superior knowledge of design, illustration, typography and photography
    • Expert knowledge of Adobe’s Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign preferred)
    • Knowledge of PowerPoint and Keynote a plus
    • Motion Design a plus
    • Must be able to produce mechanicals for layouts designed
    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
    • Must be able to design for event and environmental design
    • Experience in designing and producing premiums
    • Excellent creative/strategic/interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to work on multiple projects and deliver under tight deadlines
    • Able to work effectively with marketing and internal creative teams
    • Self-motivated with the ability to juggle multiple projects
    • Meticulous with design details and attention to quality
